At this point my edges are gone
2026 is here and I’ve never been so happy to see the end of a year! The fashion space has been so chaotic in 2025 and here’s what I’m looking forward to in 2026:
Out
d-riding for luxury fashion houses
Over consumption
Old money
Boring clothes
Obsessing over brands
Micro trends
In
Learning how to take care of your clothes
Reading the labels of the clothing
Shopping local where possible
Wearing the clothes you already own
Upgrading the quality of the clothes you own
Slowly creating your personal style
I truly feel a lot of the chaos that has been happening in the fashion space is due to these 3 things: over exposure, true cost of producing clothing and over consumption. I will expand on this thought in the new year but it’s been percolating in my mind.
This year as part of my practice, I’m going to be spending more time on education - starting with underwear, socks, bras all the way to our outer most layer with outerwear. I truly feel like we’ve forgotten so many small details about clothing and it’s making everyone’s life difficult because we’re expecting articles of clothing to perform in ways they aren’t constructed to perform and then if feels like we’ve wasted our money.
Award season is just around the corner and I will be continuing my tradition with my red carpet commentary on instagram! It’s so much fun getting to interact with all of you and critique these gowns ( and suits). There are a lot of awards shows but I focus on highlighting the main ones - although if I see an interesting dress or suit from a smaller award show I will share my thoughts. See schedule below:
