Sometimes you just need to know the context to know what to do next! Knowing what the industries you’re applying to/working in gives you a clue on what to expect for dressing. It’s really important for you to show up in the right way for your new opportunity!
There are 3 categories that I’ve split up for different industries:
Traditional (suits): Lawyers, Consultants, Accountants, Media on-air personalities, Investment Banking: you’re wearing suits in black, grey, navy white dress shirt, appropriate shoes.
Medium (dress for your day/ business casual): Advertising, Engineering, Government, Banking, Teaching, Real Estate, Banking might even be traditional depending on the bank - dress pants/blouse, suits, skirts - knee length, suit dresses/dresses knee length.
Casual (no ripped jeans or shorts over the knee): Tech, marketing, smaller companies.
These are pretty wide categories so I’m sure I haven’t listed every industry but hopefully this gives you a good idea on how to choose your outfits for your new job!
*I’ve been super nervous recording these videos, so if I seem extra stiff its because I am lol (hiding behind my hands).
