Hey y’all, this is the first edition of my newsletter, Sprezzatura Quarterly. Sprezzatura is an Italian word that means "a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it” a.k.a. effortless/effortlessly chic.
In fashion one of the unspoken goals is to appear effortlessly chic and in this space we’ll work towards that. Of course we’ll be talking style from underwear to wool coats.
I’m not sure where you live but here in Toronto we’ve experienced a grey and wet winter, so naturally we’re ready for the sunshine and warm weather. Before we can truly enjoy the spring/summer season ahead there is some housekeeping to do. I’m talking about your often neglected underwear and sock drawer. You can’t tell me that you don’t have underwear hanging out that is too big or too small or falling apart. Same with the socks, if you have holes in your socks, just let them go in peace. When you’re wearing nice underwear you feel all kinds of good and sexy, maybe even playful?! It's a small - almost secret indulgence
Now you’ve gotten rid of all those undies, what next? First measure yourself to get your current underwear size. Sizing for underwear is 2 measurements of your waist and hip.
For basic but very comfortable underwear my first stop is aerie - I love their bikini cut undies! Parade has great quality and fun colours and plus sizing that goes up to 5XL. A good middle brand is Mary Young, they have some great functional and sexy pieces. If you’re looking for sexier pieces a good place to start is Fleur de Mal or your local specialty bra-lingerie shop.

Black leather Jacket - Seeing as the weather is still cold, I decided to pair this dress with a leather jacket, leather knee-high boots and cute croc bag.
Tan trench coat - For a casual lunch or coffee with a cool breeze. Unlined trench, converse, and everyday bag. I like that the socks are a similar colour way so they work well peeking out over the sneaker.
With the white Telfy - Going to a party! Unbuttoned with a sexy bra underneath, paired with a thick necklace, gold rings, bracelet stack, chain belt and a matching white bag and shoe.
Trend alert: drop-waist and basque waist dresses. They are so cute, come in a variety of styles and look good on all body types - example 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Cute summer outfits for myself and my baby (she’ll almost be a 1-year old by the end of the summer)
