Styling a slip dress

I remember being skeptical when slip dresses began to trend. I felt that they only seemed to look good on thin people and in some cases looked like a slip you’d wear under a dress. I can say that part of the difficulty of finding a slip dress that fit was the cut of the dress itself. Once I found a cut that worked I found this style to be very sexy and sensual without showing a lot of skin.

Have you tried the slip dress style? What are some things you like or dislike about slip dresses?

I haven’t had a chance to wear this dress yet but what I like about it is that it is a simple silhouette, the colour really pops and is flattering on all skin tones, and if you’re top heavy like myself you get cleavage without your girls escaping LOL.

On Style with Dorcas Olasumbo

As our chat went on we discovered that we went to high schools down the street from each other in Scarborough, we had similar experiences growing up with African parents, and continued to talk about style that we love and hate and shared some shops we frequent (COS, Aritzia, Simmons, Massimo Dutti etc.). Also exploring some new brands on the 4th floor at the Bay (do not sleep on those sales on the 4th floor!).

We never found out who that couple in the picture was but it was a great way to finish off a great conversion!
